After completing her B.Sc. with a concentration in biochemistry and biopsychology, Dr. Jordan Dunlop earned her D.M.D from the College of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. During her time in the program, she became interested in oral pathology and the diagnosis of various oral conditions and diseases, and was awarded a bronze medal in pathology and microbiology for two consecutive years.
Jordan currently practices all areas of general dentistry, with a focus on restorative and preventive dentistry. Because natural enamel is still the best dental material out there, she believes in using minimally invasive techniques to conserve as much of the natural, healthy tooth structure as possible. Her goal, always, is to meet the esthetic and functional needs of her patients using a conservative and methodical approach.
A lifelong learner, Jordan loves that, as a career, dentistry requires a commitment to continuing education to keep up with changing technologies and techniques. Once a week, she enjoys sharing her expertise and passion for learning with the group of dental students who attend the third-year clinic she instructs at the University of Manitoba’s College of Dentistry.
A highly empathetic person, Jordan believes strongly in being socially responsible and working to improve the lives of those less fortunate. Immediately after graduation, she had the opportunity to work in Thompson, Manitoba, where she - very quickly - gained experience as a practitioner in an underserved area with a prevalence of dental disease. This experience gave Jordan a true understanding of, and appreciation for, the role of dental professionals in improving dental awareness and dental health in underserved communities around the world.
In her spare time, Jordan enjoys few things more than a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a good book – preferably at the same time. When the weather is nice, you’ll generally find her at the grocery store picking up ingredients for a new recipe, running outdoors, or spending time with family and friends. Not many people know this, but although Jordan is a one-of-kind member of our practice, she is also a twin. She has a twin sister - who never forgets her birthday - and has been her best friend since birth!
